Old shoes, New Skirt

Track workout this morning went something like this: 2 mile warm up at about 9:40 pace. 3 miles on track-- 1 mile of sprinting the straights, 800 m easy run, 1 mile of sprinting the straights, 800 m easy run. 1.5 mile cool down. For a grand total of 6.5 miles (actually was closer to 6.75). Felt better than Saturday.

The other purpose this morning's run served was to eliminate a pair of shoes. As I have been doing only Ironman training for 2 years, I have no less than 10 pairs of running shoes in my closet that I haven't used in a very long time. So I've been trying to wear them to decide which ones are still "good" and which ones need to go by the wayside. Sadly, I gave up my shoes after the run. They were my favorite pair. Orange Asics of some sort. Wore them almost exclusively at the track. They saw me through training for Chicago and NYC Marathons. It was sad to say goodbye. But now I have room in my closet for some new running shoes.
It's been a stressful day at work. So to compensate I went shopping. At my favorite place. Skirtsports.com! I've been waiting to pick up the newest little GymGirl in Pink Paradise cause I know the fall line will be out soon. But I couldn't wait anymore. So next week sometime, my Skirt will arrive and all will be well in the world.
