My life has a soundtrack....

Those of you out there with a free spirit can probably relate to this. I can (and sometimes do) - at any given moment- break into song or dance... or sometimes both. And I'm not talking about having a song from the radio stuck in my head. I mean that if the mood strikes I might bust out into an oldies tune or a song from the 80's... or maybe even do a full on rendition of the musical Cats at Bandshell Park (on stage of course) while out for an evening stroll.
Macavity's a ginger cat, he's very tall and thin. You'd know him if you
saw him cause his eyes are sunken in. His brow is deeply lined in
thought, his head is highly domed. His coat is dusty from neglect, his
whiskers are uncombed! He sways his head from side to side with movements
like a snake. And when you think he's half asleep... he's always wide
awake!
Hey, how was I to know that there were other people passing through the park at 10 pm on a weeknight? I hope they enjoyed my performance. Anyway, that's a story for another day.

So... back to this morning. I got up early (soooo could have slept until 6:30) and went to the gym for my strength workout - which was fabulous BTW. On my way down the hall I pass the towel station on my way into the locker room. Two guys I affectionately refer to as Towel Guy and Pool Guy (cause I don't know their names) opened up one of those musical cards from Hallmark just as I was passing by- they were signing it for a fellow co-worker. It began playing the song "Rhythm" from Flashdance (what a feelin'... i have rhythm now... ) and I immediately broke out into dance and danced my way into the locker room. It was a totally unconscious act. I couldn't have stopped myself if I wanted to. Anyway, they LOVED it! They couldn't stop laughing about it! And the funny thing is, the timing was absolutely perfect. I see the people who go to this gym and A) They probably don't talk to the staff on a regular basis, B) They are usually not smiling, C) They probably don't hear the music of life in their heads... or maybe they have tuned it out over the years. So who better to hear this little card-playing-music than moi? It made me laugh and brought my mind out of it's sleepy haze and it made my friends at the gym laugh. It makes me smile to brighten someone else's day by being silly.
