Anyone can do it when the sun is shining!

Today I couldn't wait to get out the door to run... it was raining again! I tested my new MarathonTank- LOVE the fabric. Seriously divine. Paired it with my very first MarathonGirl Skirt- in Chocolate- so vintage that they don't even have any in the SkirtSports outlet! (They have a similar one called Root Beer in case you love the color.) In Arizona, people don't know what to do when it rains. I actually have clients who cancel their appointments because of rain. Like they can't leave the house or something. Bizarre. Anyway, I get lots of strange looks running in the rain so I make sure to jump into every single puddle SPLASH to show the passers-by that I am having way more fun than they are. It's like being 6 years old again. Not caring about getting soaked with dirt and mud. I was scheduled for a 30 minute run... but when I got to the point in my route where I was supposed to turn toward home, I just couldn't do it. I HAD to keep running. I didn't want to be late for work so I didn't turn it into a long run. Just a little bit longer that planned. Today is a day I would have loved to call in sick. I would borrow my sister's excuse, 'I can't come in today... I have anal glaucoma'.... (In other words, I can't see my ass coming into work today). And of course it is the Friday before a 3 day weekend so the clock is ticking extra slow today. I keep waiting for the bell to ring so I can be outta here! I'm going to the pool after work for a quick 4000 yards or so. Anaerobic threshold workout- 8 x 50 sprints, 4-6 x 300 at or faster than race pace, 8 x 50 sprints faster than the first set. Tack on a warm-up and cool-down and you've got a swim workout. Then our usual Friday night ritual... Papa Murphy's pizza. We are creatures of habit. We barely have to recite our order to the guy at papas.... it hasn't changed in year or more. My fav: Hawaiian delite. Mmmm. Pizza. Can't wait. The weekend is almost here.
