Holy crap. I have been without a computer for 3 weeks. On the way home from Canada, my computer died. Literally, I used it in Seattle and then by the time I arrived home I no longer was able to view the screen (something to do with the backlight). Believing that it would magically fix itself, I ignored the problem for about 2 weeks, occasionally turning the computer on thinking it would work. Eventually I ended up at the Geek Squad where they informed me that I needed to ship it back to Dell. Once the ball was rolling, it rolled fast. I shipped my computer on a Friday and a week later I received a call that it was on it's way back to me. (Thanks, Dell!) I am very technologically challenged, but you forget how much you enjoy certain toys (like my laptop) until you don't have them anymore! Notice how I said "enjoy" and not "need" as I am aware that I do not "need" a computer. My job does not rely on me having access to email and facebook on a regular basis, but I feel so disconnected from everyone.
So, anyway, I'm back and my computer is working again. Sooo, what's new? I'm recovered from IM Canada. My post race blues didn't last too long, thankfully, as the weather got slightly cooler (as in I wake up in the morning and it's 79 degrees instead of 95) so I've been totally motivated to run. And I got to go run my favorite trail 10 days ago which I haven't been on since IM training started in June. I have missed it! When you work on Saturdays, and Sundays are dedicated to long bike rides, it's hard to hit the trails every weekend the way I'd like to. I'm looking forward to the Nike Marathon in a few short weeks (3 1/2?!!).
Skirt Chaser is urging me to pick a focus which I'm having a hard time doing. I'm mostly running which is mostly what I feel like doing. We've talked about doing a bike focus through the winter, which I should do, I'm just having a hard time getting motivated to get up even earlier than I'm already getting up. Swimming, I love, so it's not hard to hit the pool at my lunch break. That's all I need to maintain my swim fitness. And then there's yoga, which I desperately need to do on a more regular basis. There's just too much good stuff out there to choose from! And not enough time in my day!

Welcome back! I understand your dilemma on what to focus on during the off season. I am having that same problem. Coach and I decided to focus on one discipline per month so that I can get a mix of everything.
nope, remember skirtchaser is keeping his mouth closed and only offering advice when asked
