I feel a little out of sorts lately. For starters, I haven't had caffeine (well, coffee, anyways) in 5 days. I am used to a double shot of espresso in my morning latte. I have been ignoring some odd chest pains and heart beats for a few weeks now (not during exercise, only at rest) and when I finally confessed my concern to my husband he told me to "get off the caffeine". So I went cold turkey on the coffee which is never a good thing. I like living off the buzz, especially when I'm working. But, amazingly enough, my symptoms are resolving. So I guess the question is: if I know that it's just related to caffeine, can I ignore the symptoms? Or are they causing an actual problem?
This week is recovery week for training so backed down on mileage. Getting a lot more sleep, but also I feel more tired. (Maybe due to lack of caffeine???!) I literally fall into bed at 8 pm and am asleep within seconds. And that's if I can even make it to 8. But I have been waking up on schedule before my alarm goes off around 4:30 am, so at least I know I'm rested.
And of course the Tour de France is wrapping up this weekend and I feel like a kid after Christmas. I look forward to this month all year long and it's over before I know it. And the results are not necessarily what I asked for which makes me feel a little let down. It's funny because I am a die hard Lance fan, and no matter what his performance is, I will always love him. Actually, I'm glad he's retiring (again) this year because there's rumor that he's coming to the dark side (triathlon). But the guy I wanted to win, is likely taking second place again this year. (He is adorable by the way!) So I'm just bummed.
And then there's all the little every day things contributing to my solemn mood. The air conditioner not functioning.... Again. The lack of finances. Some work stuff which I can't elaborate on just yet. I just need a vacation. Or maybe a cup of coffee.

Come to Kata land! We'll relax and do nothing. Maybe cook and drink a glass of wine.
Hang in there girl! Maybe we need to resurrect Friday Funday Runday this Friday. I think caffeine has a similar effect, BTW...it's just a hard habit to kick but it's a good idea to cut back a bit. Hugs!
There's a direct flight from Mesa to Cedar... just sayin :-)
