Here's how I spent my birthday:
1. Swam 33 x 100. SkirtChaser borrowed the "birthday swim" from our good friend HB but thank goodness he only suggested swimming my age in 100s instead of the actual birthday swim which is 100 x 100. Maybe that will be a good goal for next year. My friend, MITriGirl, was waiting at the pool with cupcakes(!) and sang to me before joining us in our little swim adventure. Determined to swim outdoors (I HATE the indoor pool) we dove in. I made it maybe 20 yards before I was scrambling to get out of the frigid water. We resumed our swim indoors though I did consent to swim the final 3 x 100 outside. By that time my muscles were warm and though my skin was frosty, it was very manageable.
2. Bike 25 miles. Why 25? Because that's the age I FEEL. Ok, well actually that's how far the club was riding this morning but I'm a numbers girl and since I didn't go 22 or 27.5 or 33... I had to think of some good logic.
3. Errands. Yes I ran errands on my birthday. This involved picking up the pizza for tonight from Papa Murphy's (and some birthday cookie dough also!), stopping by the bank, grocery shopping, and visiting PetSmart to do some last minute Christmas shopping for the boys in my life. Plus Brady needed a stocking (he's a new addition since last year) and it is desperately close to Christmas.
4. Cleaned my house! Yes. I know. How sad. But when I thought about what I wanted for my birthday A Clean House ranked right at the top of the list. So I spent 3 hours cleaning bathrooms, scrubbing floors, vaccuuming, laundry, etc. Tragic, yes. But do you know how awesome it is to sit here in my clean house right now?
5. Pizza and relaxation. My SkirtChaser will be home in about a half hour. We're having pizza and kicking back in front of a movie or our favorite TV show depending on if he stops at the video store. He offered to take me out tonight but this is the only night this week that we don't have plans, so I'd rather have a quiet night in with my man.
Tomorrow my perfect day will continue with a run in the morning, followed by core and a few more errands before our end of the year tri club party. I look forward to another year of love, laughter, and living life to the fullest!
