50/2 Brick

Battled some serious winds this morning in my 50 mile ride with JA. We had headwinds, crosswinds. And a tailwind for about 3 miles. 3 miles. That's it. WTF? We stuck to the flats though the winds provided enough of a challenge for today. We managed to average 17.3 miles alternating lead every mile. Then we followed it up with a 2 mile transition run at a very quick pace (8:30 for me, sub-8 for JA). All this after she kicked my butt in a 10 mile run yesterday. My recovery is officially over. I have 4 weeks of training. Quality, hard, miles. And then a 3 week taper leading up to the second race which will close my triathlon season.

After lounging around for a bit and finishing a novel, I packed up E'ly for travel to HI. I'm a little nervous. She's not even paid for yet. If she get's damaged/lost/stolen... I'm going to be very disappointed. Keep your fingers crossed. One more day of work and then it's vaca. Again! I'm a bit spoiled in that manner. Looking forward to breathing some salty sea air...
