Making friends with the French Press

I hate money. Or rather I hate the lack of money. House payment. Car payment. Insurance. License renewals. Water. Electric. Internet. Phone. Food. Gym membership. Do you ever wonder how you can have so much month left at the end of your money? I do. The bills are never ending. So this week after paying all the bills that were waiting for my paycheck to arrive, I have about $100 to live on for 2 weeks. That's supposed to cover gas for my car, all incidental expenses (tip for my massage therapist, spent $15 on a hair cut, got an oil change).... notice how quickly this $100 disappears? So I have to go cold turkey on my one vice... my one bad habit... the one thing that gets me out of bed every morning.... Starbucks. (angels singing/ beam from heaven appears) I live for the Grande Nonfat Latte. Today... I am making friends with my French press. It's been hibernating in my kitchen cabinet. I have tons of coffee (Thanks to PTC sponsor 53-11 Coffee). Today I brewed up some "The Big Ring". It was dark. It was thick. It was good. I am caffeinated. The coffee press is going to stay on the counter top now. It was a little mad, feeling neglected. But I hope that it will soon forgive me and we will be a team.

On another note, I met with my personal trainer again today. We were doing some follow-up body composition measurements and then going over phase one of triathlon strength training. Since my 6 month hiatus is almost up (12 days....) I will be back in the pool and on my bike before you know it. I want to be ready. Stronger this time. So... the good news is, I lost 8 pounds and 1.6% body fat since August. I measured in at 15.2%, which is in a good range for female athlete (12-18%). I'm happy with that. I didn't quite get down to my ideal marathon racing weight (132 lbs) but I am close at 136. And you know what? I look and feel better than I've ever felt. And that is worth my weight in gold.

darlin you are looking and "feeling" so amazing. You have worked your freakin ass off the last 6months, and I have no doubt you will reach your goal.
Thanks for the schooling this morning at the gym. I have a long way to go.
Can't wait to climb to the top of Heartbreak Hill with you in April!!!
